Under the auspicies of the Ministry of Higher Education, the Ministry of Scientific Research and Innovation and The Cameroon Academy of Science, the Cameroon Academy of Young Scientists (CAYS) is organizing her first biennial conference on Young Scientists: Engine of Innovation and Development in Africa.
During this event, scientists and young researchers from across the globe will meet in Yaoundé – Cameroon from August 26 to 29, 2019. The event will take place at the Yaoundé Congress Hall. The conference shall be preceded by a training workshop on the theme “Science Advice in Africa: Opportunity or Illusion” with more than 300 specialists coming from partner organisations like FRQ, INGSA-AFRICA, ADB, and WORLD BANK.
This event, the first of its kind in the Central African Sub-Region, seeks to showcase research outputs of African young scientists, considered as veritable pillars of the continent. In this quest, they are expected to participate in development efforts such as innovation and change agents of the continent. This conference therefore, stands as a platform for networking, exchange and discussion between actors from the government, civil society and scientists around different themes animated in sessions under:
- Nutrition, Health and Environment
- Material sciences, TIC and Renewable Energy
- Digital Economy, Peace and Development
The outcome of this highly multidisciplinary and inter-institutional conference is to establish a synergyon national and international cooperation to transform ideas into sustainable projects. In total, more than 108 papers will be presented, authored by nearly 120 researchers.
